Healthy Active Living: Behind the Slogan

Saturday February 6, 2016, @ 11:00 a.m.
at the David Braley Health Sciences Centre in downtown Hamilton
Hosted by McMaster Children and Youth University (MCYU)

Do you know that we have a kind of fat in our body that burns calories? Or that how much you sleep can impact your appetite?  Scientists are learning a lot about how our bodies respond to sleep, food, and exercise.

Kids ages 7-14 and their families are invited to join Dr. Katherine Morrison, Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University, for this fun and engaging talk to discover what’s NEW in the science behind our health.

This talk will be followed by interactive workshops on health, technology and social issues that are of great concern in many neighbourhoods around the greater Hamilton that allow youth AND their families to ask questions about the world around them, discover how to find solutions, and then create the solutions with their own efforts…all in one hour!
